ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Drawing-in-Desire: Art as Life / Life as Art; Theatre of Process is a mixed media installation in which “The Artist is Present”.
The Artist, Sue Pam-Grant will step inside the “drawn line” in her Art as Life / Life as Art Encounter at Iziko, The South African National Art Gallery.
This performative installation representing The Room / The Cell / The Artist’s Studio, is a visceral vivisection of the fervent and fecund space that is inhabited in the reflexive practice of The Artist’s process in the “Act of Drawing-in-Desire”.
The Installation, in the form of a curated ‘Conversation in Constellations/Constellations in Conversation, between artists Louise Bourgeois (LB) and Sue Pam-Grant (SPG), is a temporal discourse between the past and the present in the Theatre of Process.
The Viewer/Visitor to Iziko will have the privilege of witnessing “the alchemy of the creative impulse” as they step inside the artist’s process-as-practice / practice-as-process.
The Artist is Always Present.
