The exhibition “A Resilient Visionary: Poetic Expressions of David Koloane” is a retrospective of the artist’s work.  It is a celebration of the artistic journey and the seminal contributions of this veteran Johannesburg-based artist who turned 80 last year. The changing sociopolitical landscape of South Africa – from the apartheid era to the present – is reflected not only in Koloane’s own work, but also in his sterling promotion and nurturing of the work of many disadvantaged younger artists.
The exhibition is presented in association with the Goodman Gallery and curated by Thembinkosi Goniwe, artist, art historian, and lecturer (Wits School of Arts, University of Cape Town, University of the Witwatersrand, University of Fort Hare and Vaal University of Technology).
We hope you can join Thembinkosi Goniwe for a walkabout of the exhibition.
